The Post-Cruise Guest Satisfaction Survey
The private survey you answer after sailing, and why it matters to the people who looked after you.
Tell Us Your Cruise WishesThe Post Cruise Guest Satisfaction Survey, in Brief
After most cruises, guests are invited by email to complete a post cruise guest satisfaction survey. It is the line’s own research — private, not published — and it covers the trip from booking to the last morning.
- Booking and the pre-cruise information you received
- Embarkation and the terminal
- Your cabin and your cabin steward
- Dining venues and named waiters
- Entertainment, activities and facilities on board
- Shore excursions bought through the ship
- Disembarkation, and whether you would sail or recommend the line again

Why Your Answers Reach the Crew
Cruise lines do not publish exactly how they use survey results, so treat any precise claim with caution. In general terms, guest feedback is how ships learn what worked: venues that disappointed, processes that caused queues and crew members who stood out. Comments that name a crew member and describe what they did are the kind most likely to be passed to that person and their managers. That is why many crew mention the survey near the end of a cruise.
- Answer soon after you return, while details are fresh.
- Name people who made a difference, with the venue they worked in.
- Keep problems specific and fair; separate the ship from the weather.
- Raise anything that needs fixing on board while you are still sailing, rather than only in the survey.
Surveys You Answer, Surveys You Read
The post-cruise survey flows one way: from you to the line. The studies elsewhere on this site flow the other way: from thousands of travellers to you. Both are useful. The private survey helps the ship you sailed on improve; the published research helps you choose the next one. If you would like to tell us — rather than the line — what your ideal next cruise looks like, our cruise wish list goes straight to our cruise advisors at Mister Cruise.
A practical tip: keep a short note on your phone during the cruise with the names of crew who helped you and anything that stood out, good or bad. When the survey arrives a few days later, you can answer in minutes and give the specific details that make feedback useful.

Post-Cruise Survey: FAQ
Does everyone receive a post-cruise survey?
Not always. Lines decide who receives one, and some send it only to a share of guests on each sailing. Check the email address on your booking and your spam folder in the days after you return.
What if I never received one?
You can still give feedback through the line’s guest relations or customer service channels, and through your travel advisor, who can pass it on.
